Slice the hard-boiled eggs into thin, even slices.
If desired, remove the crusts from the bread. I personally leave them on because they're my favorite part.
Lay one slice of bread on a clean surface.
Place two slices of cheese over the bread.
Arrange the sliced egg evenly over the cheese. Ideally, use one whole sliced egg for each sandwich.
Cover with another slice of bread.
Heat a frying pan over low heat.
Add one slice of butter and allow it to melt completely.
Place the sandwich into the pan.
Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the bottom becomes golden brown.
Flip the sandwich carefully.
Add more butter if desired.
Cook the second side for another 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Remove from the pan.
Slice the sandwich in half if desired.
Serve warm for the best cheesy texture, although it is also delicious at room temperature.
