Ingredients

  • 4 slices loaf bread
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 2 slices butter

Instructions

  • Slice the hard-boiled eggs into thin, even slices.
  • If desired, remove the crusts from the bread. I personally leave them on because they're my favorite part.
  • Lay one slice of bread on a clean surface.
  • Place two slices of cheese over the bread.
  • Arrange the sliced egg evenly over the cheese. Ideally, use one whole sliced egg for each sandwich.
  • Cover with another slice of bread.
  • Heat a frying pan over low heat.
  • Add one slice of butter and allow it to melt completely.
  • Place the sandwich into the pan.
  • Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, or until the bottom becomes golden brown.
  • Flip the sandwich carefully.
  • Add more butter if desired.
  • Cook the second side for another 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove from the pan.
  • Slice the sandwich in half if desired.
  • Serve warm for the best cheesy texture, although it is also delicious at room temperature.
