Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 tbsp condensed milk
  • ½ tsp salt

Yeast Mixture

  • tsp instant yeast
  • cup warm water
  • tbsp white sugar

Filling

  • 3 tbsp softened butter room temperature
  • 3 tbsp condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Note: Mix the butter and condensed milk first. Remove 1 tablespoon of this mixture before adding the flour. Reserve it for the topping.

For a sweeter bread, you may double the filling ingredients so you can use about 1 tablespoon of filling per bread. Be careful not to overfill because the filling may leak while baking.

Toppings

  • Reserved 1 tbsp butter-condensed milk mixture
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sliced almonds

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it bloom for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.

  • Knead the dough for about 10 to 15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Lightly coat the dough with cooking oil.
  • Place inside a bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for 1 to 2 hours or until doubled in size.
